Assumptions of Science: The Universe operates according to understandable laws

This assumption is based on the idea that there are rules that do not change, that the world and universe operate by. - This theory can technically be applied to human cultures as well. Different civilizations often have very similar stimuli that encourage change (eg. development to an agricultural society leads to a more stratified society.) However, this does not mean that all agricultural civilizations are identical or developed in the same way or under completely identical conditions.
